I don’t really know much about these kinds of stuff, but what programs do i really need?

Some time ago I had a huge problems with adware, spyware, and a trojan. 3 of the programs I used for diagnostics and removal were Hijackthis, DSS (Decker Security System), and Smitfraudfix (the program not the malware). None of them are listed under the Start Menu along with an uninstall tab, nor are they populated under add/remove new software. I want to remove the whole programs not just the shortcuts so I can reclaim the memory. Can anyone help this computer moron?

my dell is running really slow so I’m looking for a free registry cleaner download .I know that sometimes you and pick up a virus by choosing a wrong download .

I’m looking for a better virus protection software. I have Trend Micro Internet Security Pro. Is that good? What do you guys recommend?

I have been having problems with spy-ware, spam and even viruses getting through my virus protection and firewall. Can anyone direct me where I might find free PC Maintenance tools? ie: registry cleaner, spyware, etc. Thanks so much!
