If everything is gone he probably did a recovery or reinstall. Heres a couple of data recovery applications you can try.

File recovery-
Recuva (pronounced "recover") is a freeware Windows utility to restore files that have been accidentally deleted from your computer. This includes files emptied from the Recycle bin as well as images and other files that have been deleted by user error from digital camera memory cards or MP3 players. It will even bring back files that have been deleted by bugs, crashes and viruses!

You can get a program called PC File Recovery. I just recently used it to get some pics back that were deleted in November of 2006. It worked fine…you just need to know maybe the name of the folder it was in..or some of the pic names. Use the find file button when you get into the program. If they were deleted, use the no FAT option while saving them back to your pc.
You can always try system restore! Start, control panel, Performance and maintenance. On the left side of the screen you will see system restore, select that and restore the system to a date prior to the cleanup. Good Luck!
No, your not out of luck, there are several programs that can bring back your data. But be warned, don’t use your computer until you get the data back, or you might write over it by accident. There are several programs that can recover your data. Just search for it in google, and find the one that you like. By the way, a professional computer tech will always backup before doing anything that might harm your computer, just in case. Hiring a computer wiz with no training is like hiring a shade tree mechanic. He might fix it, he might make it worse.
Well even though most of the data has been erased, it will still be there. Remove the harddisk and do a recovery. Go to some IT support and never trust anyone without a qualification. They could be quack or dreamers.
Have you checked the re-cycle bin? Your files could still be there, unless he has emptied it then you are out of luck.
You can find a good PC tec. he can do a data recovery it costly because of the time it takes but it can be done if the info is that inportant
That depends on how he cleaned it! Some of your files may still be in the recycle bin. All you need to do is right click and restore them. If they arent there tho, you are looking at paying a professional to find the data and it may have already been overwritten.
