A good free program to clean up spyware/viruses from my computer?

   Going on-line without anti virus is just plain idiotic.

   only if you think you might be infected now.

   Then
   i suggest you go and get Avast : http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html

   you can not get a better anti virus system for free.
   it has many features you will have to pay for in other systems.

   don’t forget to register or you will only have it for 30 days
   by registering you will get a licence for a full year.
   just re-register at the end of the year to get another one year licence.

   if you do not like the look of Avast
   then microsoft supply a system for free..

Well how about having an excellent free operating system that’s virus free and don’t need software to keep it up and running Have a Operating system that Microsoft and Apple can only dream about.    You need to educate yourself and stop thinking Microsoft you have no need to ever buy an operating system or software ever again

   Just personal opinion of course. I use Avast , I have also got superantispyware and Malwarebytes. I recently changed to Comodo firewall which seems fine and I seem to boot up quicker. They are all free for personal use and I have had no trouble with Viruses Trojans Hackers etc. I also use Windows Defender from the Microsoft site. It is safe to use two anti-spy products but never use more than one A/V as it can cause conflicts. You should run A/V and anti spy weekly.

   Note: Do not dowlnoad more than 2 programs at the same time, they can interfere with each other, except for Malwarebytes (free version) it only scans your computer and removes viruses.

   Malwarebytes is mainly used for removing malware and such, Avira and AVG are free antivirus programs that do a pretty good job.

   I still would recommend buying a hard copy of an antivirus prorgram like Kaspersky or Norton.

   I used a combination of Glary Utilities http://www.glaryutilities.com plus Malwarebytes http://www.malwarebytes.org plus Avira http://www.free-av.com I used all these to clean my computer of any problems.

   Then Install the free version of Avast and this has kepy my computer virus free for 18 months or so. Once this was installed I took the others off. http://www.avast.com/en-gb/index
