does anyone know how to fix a slow computer?
because my computer is so slow i mean really slow it takes us like half an hour just to find the website that we want and it freezes a lot can anyone recommend me a new computer like cox or any other type thanks i apreciate your help

you have to defragment it,maybe you have so much files and actives desktop items +if you have a back ground image,that slow downs your computer,you need to clean it,to make more space available,you should run a scan for virus ,that’s probably the reason it freezes,go to the all programs,click accessories,there you have disk defragmenter,click it and follow the instructions

yea, get a new computer….
right click "my computer" click "properties". Click the "Advanced tab" then click "Settings" on the "Performance" area. under the "Visual Effects" tab click "Adjust for best performance", then scroll down to the bottom, check the bottom 3 boxes and the two boxes "Show translucent selection rectangle" and the one under it. Click "Apply" then "OK". Your computer should be noticably faster immediately.
could be several factors to blame
low memory perhaps?
not set to best performance
or some other issues
how old is the computer?
What type of computer do you have right now?
thats a start.
what windows version do you have?
If its something like windows 98, then right off the bat it would be better to just get a new computer. Thats not just because its windows 98, but any computer from that time frame was limited with the type of RAM they used, processor range for that time frame, and upgradability.
If you bought the computer with Windows XP, then there are some things you can do to upgrade the memory, and you actually might be able to salvage that computer with a minimal investment and it could save you a few hundred bucks

It could be a number of things that are making your computer slow, RAM, processor, running apps.
It sounds like your computer is an oldie.
When buying a new pc, you should think about what you will be dong with it, what Applications that you want too run on it, do you have have any USB devices that you need to connect.
Do you need mobile computing.
