Do a disc clean up or get virus software to get all the crap off your computor if you have a dell get rid of it and buy an apple

Lower pixels on desktop,De frag the disk drive, free up some room on your ROM (uninstall things not being used.) Get an anti virus see if you have a worm. If those fail then upgrade your computer.

Well you can buy a memory card to increase it's memory because sometimes too much memory on your computer makes it slow. Also viruses make it slow really slow and you should get an anti-virus fix this. Not only virus can make your computer slow it can make your computer ruined for example: it won't start. And also one more thing buying memory card is not that easy you must find the right type of thing to make it work and you must find out the maximum gb or mb your computer can handle. 1st upgrade Memory RAM to max.
PC Accelerator
Registry Mechanic
Compress C: Drive
Add/remove programs and uninstall all those programs you dont use anymore then defrag your harddrive.

– Delete all temp files (c:\windows\temp\*.tmp, or on XP C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Temp)

– Delete temporary internet files (c:\windows\temporary internet files\*.*, or on XP C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files)

– If you use I.E., click on Tools, Internet Options, Delete Files, select "delete all off-line content", click OK

– Click on Start, Programs, Accessories, Systems Tools, Disk Cleanup

– Download AdAware, check for updates, run it and remove whatever it finds

– Download Diskeeper and defrag

– Download, update and turn on SpywareBlaster and SpywareGuard (or your spyware removal tool of choice).
