How come in the news you always hear “What if (blank) disease were to mutate” but you never hear it about AIDS?
Like you hear it with bird flu, mad cow, and Ebola… "If this disease mutates the results could be catastrophic!", all the mean while AIDS is more then catastrophic and is just as able to mutate… WTF?

The reason is, the media and government agencies don’t want to scare the public of all theses surely possible diseases starting with HIV. It is extremely hypocritical and dangerous. It needs much more space here to explain some of the alleged rationale for this misinformation and misleading of the population. It seems to be acceptable for many to have this disease spread uncontrolled..
From what I understand, you are asking why nobody talks about HIV mutating.
That is because it is irrelevant. HIV is not something you want infecting you, and it doesn’t matter if it is a highly mutated strain or not.
Also, it is never the disease that mutates, it is the organism. Mutation is when the organism shows changes in its ‘chromosome’ that makes it different from the original strain. And in the case of HIV, it mutates so often and easily that it is difficult to decipher what the ‘origin’ strain was.
