the way i did it, was i added everything i didnt want on my computer to my desktop, i made a big click-box, and pressed the delete button on my computer. then all the objects i didnt want on my computer was in my recycling bin. then i pressed empty bin, and it got rid of all the things i didnt want. now my computer is really fast and not as crowded

you need a faster CPU. deleting files from your hard disk doesn't improve your computer's speed, unless you are running critically short of space.

Well, for low small editing of photos, and eBay browsing, you should be fine unless you are running an inherited PC, or you are fully loaded with worms and viruses. I would suggest you try to run Ad-Aware software from http://www.download.com/3000-2144-10045910.html
clean up anything on your PC, do defragmentation, and to browse the net safely, use Firefox browser. Its much more secured than Internet Explorer

Have you tried cleaning up your hard drive - start/programs/accessories/system tools - disk cleanup and disk defragmenter. This should speed you up a bit. Another option is to store your photos on a separate drive. Good luck.

having less software in you computer won't help your computer's performance. a software doesn't use any ram memory or cpu unless it is active running...such as anti-virus, firewall which i think you need if you are using the internet. so removing software won't help you unless you are running out of space on your windows' hard drive. if you want to improve the speed of you computer, you need a better cpu and/or more ram memory. and the easiest way to ''clean up'' you computer, just reinstall then just install the software you need.
