If you want to cleanup your registry be sure to use a program that can make a backup of your registry first! Some programs offer the option to make a backup and a restore of your registry so that in case it goes wrong you can restore your previous settings. You can use ccleaner as mentioned in previous posts only it doesn’t find all the problems. I use another program next to it to clean up the registry.
you don’t clean it out, it won’t help with anything anyways…space savings will be miniscule to the amount of damage you could unleash on your machine
There are two files of the regitry :
system.dat and ntuser.dat
The two files are placed at
C:\Documents and Settings\%user%
You cannot access these files without the help of a software.
Cleaning the registry is not recommended.
try ccleaner from http://www.download.com. It will do it automatically but make sure you read what it says it is going to do as other say you can stuff things up if you just click through
If you don’t know then you shouldn’t be cleaning it. Use regcleaner or ccleaner instead.
do not clean your registry! it will ruin your computer!
If you dont know where it is you have no business "cleaning" it out. People do more damage with registry cleaners than they do helping their PC’s
