It most likely is fill of dust in there. I would advise NOT to open the laptop because there are a lot of screws and it’s very difficult to put them back together.
What I would do is get a can of compressed air from Wal-Mart (the kind you use to clean your keyboard of dust) and blow into the fan. Yes, this sounds like you might be blowing the dust back into the computer but it’s the safest way to clean it out of dust.
yes, you can clean using Vaccum cleaner using Blower option, which kicks off the dust inside the laptop
