how to fix slow computer?
hey guys i need help, my computer became slow all of a sudden like a month ago i did all the defreg disk clean up, check up, clearin internet files and so but that didnt help it was still so slow , then i thought a few days ago to fix i need to re unistall windows completely .i did so and everything was fine for the first 3 days amd then again its so slow that its getting annoying when it loads just on the windows xp logo it takes two minutes which is unusual so guys help anywere if there are any softwares that help with this pliz let me know. i even removed some programs frm start up thinkin it will be a bit faster but no change so help guys pliz!!?

Reboot it
Back all IMPORTANT data up, that is usually about 2 names and a phone number, 1g or less of space, reformat, install Linux and never look back.
May wanna add some ram and junk, 256 for Ubuntu Linux, 2gigs for Windows, choice should be obvious there.
Spyware checker is a must. It can slow your computer down big time. Let’s assume you have that (Spybot) installed. Large programs can also slow your computer down. Have you installed some new software and don’t have enough memory to support it? Since you reinstalled everything, I know you have a virus checker installed right? Viruses will really slow you down because they use precious CPU memory. If you don’t have virus protection, and you keep visiting the same web sites, you might keep picking up the same virus. Have you tried cleaning the fans etc?
And disable all unnecessary services by going to start menu – run – services.msc
You probably have over a dozen of unnecessary services running in the background. (make sure diabling them will not cause dependency issues.) But I’ve got most of the services I don’t use diabled and those I may need to use on Manual.
I’m not going to mention spyware etc. since determining from your knowledge of computers; you probably have a spyware remover and virus scan etc. But if you don’t, they slow your OS startup down big time. Remove them ASAP.
It sounds like hard drive has bad tracks, run scan disk with fix errors option and also if you add more ram it will help allot.
