I have a desktop Compaq Presario and use Windows XP. Something happened and everytime I try to open Internet?
Explorer’ it starts to open my Yahoo homepage but stops before the page has loaded completely, then It says internet explorer has encontered and error and needs to close. I have tried everything including virus scan, registry cleaner, deleted history, etc, etc. Antone have any suggestions? (besides take the computer out back and shoot the dang thing)
I did system restore, and installed IE7, and that didn’t help.

You have a few options.
1. Go to control panel and then open internet options. Change your homepage to: about:blank
2. Open internet explorer and see if it does the same thing.
3. Do a system restore from before the problem started:
goto: start>run type "restore" without the quotes. Dbl Click rstrui.exe.
4. Update or reinstall your internet explorer.
5. Use firefox
If you’re usin’ Explorer 7, I would suggest uninstalling it from the ADD/DELETE Programs window,(go to the Windows Uninstall feature to the left), and re-installing it.
try to re install xp.that could fix the problem.or you could have a bad memory stick.
