Is it really necessary to periodically clean your registry ?? and how do i do that ??

   It’s Not Really Necessary To "Clean" Your Registry.

   The Registry Is A File ( 5-7 Actually, Called Hives) That Your Computer Reads During A Boot Or When You Or Someone Else Logs Out Then In.

   It Contain Vital Information On Your Software And Hardware, Security Settings, Keeps Track Of Settings For Each User And Also Keeps Track Of Things Like What Documents You Have Recently Opened, How Much Unread Mail You Have And So Forth.

   Over Time The Registry Can Become Quite Large With Quite A Bit Of Unnecessary Information In It. Depending On Other Things, Errors May Get Introduced. A Cleaner May Or May Not Help With That Regardless Of What The Term Cleaner Means. If You’re Missing Vital Information, A Cleaner Will NOT Fix That.

   If You Are Going To Use Such A Cleaner, Which is The Only Way To Go If You’re Not Intimately Familiar With The Registry, You Should Go To Some Source Like CNet Dot Com And Read The Reviews On Registry Cleaners.

   There Is Quite A Bit Of Debate Over Whether Registry Cleaners Are Snake Oil Or Not. I Don’t Think Any Good One Is. But I Also Realize That Even The Best Software Occasionally Leaves You High And Dry Which Is Why It’s Vitally Important That Any Cleaner You Do Use Has A Backup Feature. Use That Feature.

   A Cleaner Registry Can Make Your Computer Boot Faster And May Improve The Starting Speed Of Some Programs If Your Machine Does Have A Lot Of Extraneous Information In The Registry, As The Computer Reads The Entire Thing When Booting But Just Your Settings If You’re Just Logging In.

   Make Sure You Get A Reputable Program.

   Yes it’s very important,because when you uninstall software registry keys that uninstalled program used aren’t deleted.After some time this keys are slowing down your OS,and some times it might crash.To clean Registry I use Registry Mechanic.It’s easy to work with. You also can google(or yahoo) for registry cleaner.

   Yeah, it is wise to clean the registry to speed up your computer. If your new to doing this I suggest you use ccleaner it has a very safe registry cleaner.

   Yeah it very necessary to have REGISTRY CLEANER(C CLEANER) AND ANTI SPYWARES & ANTI VIRUS.HEY THE MAN BEFORE ME EDITED HIS ANSWER AFTER SEEING MINE.

   From the first time you use your computer the registry starts to build up unwanted files and errors. The only way to get rid of these errors is with a good registry cleaner. You should stay away from free registry cleaners because you really don’t know what your getting and there is know guarantee that they won’t make the problem worse.
