Hello, I’m a computer tech student from RIT in Rochester, NY. some anti virus software can slow down systems. It depends what you have. If you got AVG it’s fine, but Norton, and McAfree are the only 2 software I know that slow the systems down. So Tried to uninstall anti virus and see what happen. Or try to go to start, click run and type msconfig then the the pop up dialog will come up and click startup tab. Disable something you do not need to boot up when turning on your system. Suggest you to disable instant messengers like msn, aim, yahoo, etc. Also if google desktop is on the list.. disable that, because you would not need that. You will only go on internet to surf web. So try that.
TO prevent from overheat, i suggest you to not over charge your battery. If your battery is fully charged, take it off and you can still turn on the laptop with power supply plug in without battery. It will help lot better.
It’s a Toshiba. Those just aren’t very reliable and will crash after a few years.
Computers don’t just go bad. They get viruses and Spam =)
