I am a webmaster, and I am trying to build my website, but my computer keeps acting weird and seems to be going into random hybernation for no reason in the middle of ANYTHING. I tried to do a scan to see if there was any virus/malware that was causing this, but nothing came up.

When I ran Spybot Search and Destroy, "Smitfraud-C. Toolbar888" came up… for the bazillionth time! What do I do??? Also, random websites just pop up in new windows, and I can’t stop them. Even pop-up blockers with by Browser and Google Toolbar can’t stop them!

Here is some info that I got from HijackThis (You may find Vista applications listed due to the fact that I downloaded the Vista Transformation package from WindowsX):

P.S. This is a shared work-related computer on a network, so I don’t know what all may be listed above or downloaded on here that may not be "good," ya know?

Thanks for any help!

i want to know which registry cleaner is best for windows vista

I’ve looked at a few Registry cleaners and all of them just scan for errors, which I have plenty of, but don’t remove them for free. Is there any registry cleaner that will remove these errors for free.

I have a Windows ME desktop from which I am trying to transfer data to an XP laptop. What I have tried so far:

Computer has a D-link Airplus DWL-G520 rev. B wireless adapter but it will not connect to my wireless network. Ran some troubleshooting software and searched on D-link website for help but to no avail.

A CD burner was physically installed into one of the available slots but the computer does not have software for burning. I tried downloading BurnAware, a free software program, but when trying to install it I get the error message "_regdll has caused an error in NMSDVDXU.DLL. _regdll will now close." and it will not install. I tried running a registry cleaner but it did not help.

Computer has no USB ports.

Is there some kind of cable I can use to directly connect this desktop computer to my new laptop and directly transfer data? Where can I buy one? The ME computer seems to have quite a few errors on it so hopefully there is no involved software installation which might not work.

Thank you very much, I appreciate any input!!

regcure i dunno about it. you see, on my programs i have it says that regcure is a rogue registry cleaner and it is completely a hoax and it is malware…on regures site it says like regcure is the best program ever. what should i do.?
