How can I repair WINDOWS Xp without reinstalling the entire operating system?????!!!!
Okay, i was doing some computer cleaning, deleting junk files, uninstalling, etc… then when i restarted my computer, my operating system, windows xp media center, the whole interface was lost. in other words, i cant see my desktop start menu, everything was reseted as if it was in safe mode and the whole GUI, graphical user interface stopped working. SO i cant copy my files or other things that i want to save before i would install the whole operating system all over again. SO BASICALLY I THINK THAT THERE IS A REGISTRY ERROR OF SOME KIND AND I CANT CLICK, COPY, CUT, ERASE, OR ANYTHING, NOT EVEN START ETC. How can i repair the system, i already tried system restore but it gives me an error that it is corrupted. I think of either using recovey console in windows when ou boot it up, BUT I DONT KNOW HOW TO USE THAT!!! PLEASE HELP !!!!! PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its says :

A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
If this is the first time you’ve seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps: Run a system diagnostic utility supplied by your hardware manufacturer. In particular , rune a memory check, and check for fault your mismatched memory. Try changing video adapters.

Sorry guys, details will be a bit sketchy on this one, since this isn’t my computer, and my friend knows very little technical stuff about the one I’m trying to fix for them. Basically what I’m working with is that it is a Dell Inspiron 3600 desktop (Im assuming about 512 MB of memory, 1 G if we are lucky). It was shut down incorrectly and now is not able to get past the blue screen, even on safe mode and last known good config, all options fail and hit the blue screen. The only errors I can bring up are multiple 0X00000000, which, as far as I’ve ever worked with means the BIOS and CMOS is completely screwed… Now the interesting part, no new hardware or software, just shut down badly. I ran the Dell diagnostic disk and got the following, which I can’t apply a resolution for:
0f00:0244
Block 26639166

0f00:1a44
Block 26639166
Any ideas for how to bring windows back up, (they have files they didn’t back up anywhere else that they need, so wiping the hard drive isn’t an option). Also no XP disk is available.

Apparently, I have a registry bug leftover from a virus after getting rid of it with an antivirus program. It restricts the computer from working in normal mode, nothing will react when I click on them, so I’ve been forced to work in Safe Mode. I’ve been told it’s unfixable because the registry bug’s code is constantly changing. I want to give one more try, just wanna see if there’s one ultimate program that can help me out. Thanks.

I need some help regarding my laptop.

Several days ago the laptop stop working properly. I now only boots up to the desktop screen of windows but displays no icons or anything just the screen and wallpaper. Have tried to use safe mode, last known good configurations , pressed the start key , pressed other keys but nothing works.

Therefor I need help on what to do next. My thought is that I need to boot it up and run disk check , disk repair in bios. Since its a laptop it has no hard disk drive.

Does anyone know where I can find the software to unable booting into dos direct using a CD rom ?

or if there is a cheap cable I can get to link the hard drive of the Laptop to my normal PC and repair , re-install windows that way then let me know.

Thanks
