The ones i use and recommend are CCleaner, Advanced System Care, and Uniblue Registry Booster.

CCleaner is free, ASC has a limited free version and Uniblue is a pay for program.

If you want free CCleaner and Advanced System Care work very well.

All 3 are offered for download on the internt.

Hard to recommend *any*, see http://aumha.net/viewtopic.php?f=62&t=28099&st=0&sk=t&sd=a

Some are snake oil and are likely to do more harm than good. Don't expect any noticeable system performance from any. If you're determined to use one, EasyCleaner and CCleaner will do least damage.

EasyCleaner: http://personal.inet.fi/business/toniarts/ecleane.htm
CCleaner: http://www.ccleaner.com/download/builds
get the SLIM build, no added crappy toolbar

Well you're going to get two answers here.

Most people will tell you to use the free cleaner "CCleaner" which u can get from http://www.ccleaner.com - but this is BAD because it just tries to find as many problems as possible to make itself look good (why else would it be free)?

You need to be careful with the regsitry because it's a crucial part of your system. If you screw up one of the important files inside it, you're going to have BIG problems down the line... so you need to be sure the registry cleaner you use will be as "delicate" as possible with your PC.

The best regsitry cleaner I've used is one called "RegCure". It's very fast at scanning and it speeds up your computer a lot. You can see exactly what it does here: http://www.fastregistryfixes.com/regcure_review.html
