PRESS >> ALT and F10 at the same time..
This action will appear to be starting into Windows but goes to the HIDDEN backup/recovery partition of the Acer Aspire.
You may need to restore your PC to the factory setup defaults.
Have given this Info to others and they sometimes report a difficulty.
This is probably due to not pressing ALT & F10 all at the same time and
just as the PC is starting up and just goes from the startup screen to
normally a normal Windows start (Desktop).
Its a knack to press Alt & F10 all at the SAME time.
But you get used to it.
[NOTE: that >>This info applies to Acer laptops with
Windows Vista installed.
(any edition of Vista, originally installed by the Factory setup)
Incidentally.the CAUSE.>>of your "problem"
Now I am guessing, but since its a Laptop, I doubt the problem is related to a Hardware change, but rather to an Incompatible Program or Game for Vista….that you recently installed.
IF you did recently install some type of Program or Game prior to this INCIDENT (fault) occurring.DON’T re-install it. chuck it.
This could also relate to a DRIVER file you may also have Updated from a CD or the Internet, that was incorrect and you didn’t realise it.
SO, recall what you were doing prior to the Fault occurring.
DON’T do it again.
WILL, my Advice here work…YES, it WILL.
press f8 and reinstall your O/S.it will show you step by step..
if f8 doesn’t work..try f9 or del
Boot with the Vista disk and get to a dos prompt…. do not reinstall your OS just yet. At the dos prompt, type chkdsk /R and let it do its thing. When it finishes, reboot and your problem should be resolved. If not, you might be forced to reinstall the OS.
