Windows failed to start?
Okay so i got spyware today on my pc. Then i downloaded a program that found the spyware and said it would erase it. But it said it had to restart the computer to completely remove the spyware. I restarted my computer and its says "windows failed to start. a recent hardware or software change might be the cause." I tried windows memory diagnostic, doesnt work. I tried all the options of starting it, such as safe mode, doesnt work. and i dont have a windows installation disc. I dont know what to do.
this probably isnt gonna help but the file is " CI.dll" and the status is "0xc0000098" and it says windows failed to load because a required file is missing or corrupt.

If the program you downloaded was a popup that came up after you got the spyware,that’s your problem.I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you will need a windows installation cd. $89.99 at http://www.compusa.com
Do a system reset to a different date

More than likely, your computer came with a recovery disk. Insert this disk into your computer and turn it on; while it is turning on, go to the boot menu. This can be accessed by pressing one of the F buttons (usually F8, F10, or F12); if you don’t know which one it is, it will not hurt the computer to repeatedly press all of the keys at once. Once you have the boot menu up, scroll down using the arrow keys until your CD/DVD drive is highlighted, and press enter. THIS WILL ERASE ALL OF YOUR DATA, but your hard drive will be rewritten to an out-of-box state (how your computer looked when it came out of the box). This will erase spyware, but it will not fix a hardware error if it is not just the spyware causing the problem. Also try to back up your files if you can to re-install them on your computer.
you can do this when you restart your computer press F8 it will give you lots of option line open with safe mod, command prom and where you will got the option with the name of (open with last good setting) like wise select that and your system will get start or if its not working then you have to insert the window CD and have to repair your windows.
