Windows Xp Clean Install Problem?

   The key on the sticker on the computer is not always the same as the Setup key that was actually used – especially in big brand systems who replicate one OS across a whole batch of identical systems.

   The key on the sticker or acutally installed on a big brand OS is usually tied to the original hardware. It is not licensed to nor will it work on a different system.

   Bad news all around.

   Good question. What do you mean "there’s a way". There is or
   might be a way to wipe your hard drive clean, and then restore.
   But if there is a way to do that without a copy(a disk) of Windows XP for
   your machine. I don’t know it.
   I don’t want to break any laws. Unless i break them over Gates’ head.

   Just call Microsoft and explain your mother board died and you simply want to transfer XP to another machine, you should not have any problems.
