Is your copy of Windows xp legal? If its illegal then you will have some trouble installintg it.
if it is legal, you can try downloading Windows XP service pack 3.

Are you sure, that your copy is not an illegal copy ?? Because, you can’t install sp2 on an illegal copy. How about all the security up-dates. There are around a 100 by now and without them your pc is at risk. Not having sp2 won’t let you download the updates.
Perhaps you don’t even know, that you have a pirate copy, because it was already installed on your pc when you bought it
If I where you I would try to find out about my copy of xp.
If it is an illegal copy you better get a legal copy. Not that I try to make an honnest man of you, but your pc is not really protected any more. I use a pirat copy of XP Pro for years, but got myself a legal copy of xp home last year. No regrets
