Because, you can't install sp2 on an illegal copy. How about all the security up-dates. There are around a 100 by now and without them your pc is at risk. Not having sp2 won't let you download the updates. Perhaps you don't even know, that you have a pirate copy, because it was already installed on your pc when you bought it If I where you I would try to find out about my copy of xp. If it is an illegal copy you better get a legal copy. Not that I try to make an honnest man of you, but your pc is not really protected any more.
