   I had this "About:Blank" virus/spyware. I used "SpyWare Doctor" to remove it. There are probably other removal tools out there, but this one seems to work best for me.

   Run your antivirus software (AS).

   If your AS cant delete the sucker, go to symantec’s site, under security or something, look for the trojan your AS finds and do what u have to do.

   Also try, Spyware search and destroy. I think its called that.

   Others are correct if all that happens is when you open IE you can continue to surf freely.

   If this is a pop-up window then:

   First of all, you need to stop using Internet Explorer and start using a browser such as Netscape or Mozilla Firefox. They provide better Internet protection and tabbed browsing (you will never want to go back). And I am sure you will not see this again. If that does not work then, I don’t know if you have ran spyware programs such as Adware, Webroot spysweeper, or Spydoctor. I would give those a try (free/trial versions are available from the company websites). There are other free antivirus programs that you want to try such as AVG, or Panda Antivirus.

   tools\options
   type in wat u want as home page
   about:blank if just default
   u must have cleared out your settings or sumthing.

   You just go to tools; Internet options; change the address to the one you want.

   You may have accidentally clicked the blank homepage button.
