What you are CD disk called CDR’s these disks most will be listed as 650mb capacity to as much as 700mb capacity but the truth is both disks are basically the same. If a CD can hold only 650 MB then it has to be sold as a 650MB CDR but if it test’s out as being able to hold 651 MB or more it will be sold as the higher 700mb disk but there is nothing different but the factory’s pocket book as they sell them for more money. There are two other CD’s that you will find one being a DVD that has up to 2 Gig’s of storage but they cost more and you will need a DVD Recorder and are you really going to copy 800 pic’s to a CD at one time as you cannot copy to a CD be multiple time’s be it a CDR or DVD and there is the not so much used CD called the CDR-W and with a CDR-W you can erase the data that you record on it and re-record to it over and over but I do not recommend these disks as they tend to become unreadable after time.
Well, an external hard drive would be good for this situation, but a low cost option would be buying DVD-RW’s, they can hold up to 4.7 gigabytes of data, which is a lot of freaking photos.
storage space is measured in megabytes. MB for short.
Buy CDs that have at least 500 MB. the more the better. Just CD-R is most common and they hold a good amount of pics. If you want, they come in different colors too like I have seen some instead of being shiny silver, they are shiny black, red, gold, or blue. It doesnt affect performance at all.
For photos, you will want the biggest possible storage medium (some photos exceed 2-3 MB each.) The world of CD’s is relatively limited, basically the only difference being in the capacity of the disk. I think the biggest CD is around 700MB. You might also want to look at getting an external hard drive, which, depending on the price, can hold one to one and a half terabytes (1,000 gig.)
