If it’s Vista 64-bit and your motherboard supports 8GB of RAM, it will start as normal, but you must Shut down the computer, not hibernate it before you install the RAM.
Everything will work fine if the RAM is 100% compatible with your system!!
Upgrading RAM shouldn’t give you any hardware change problems with Windows. It doesn’t require drivers and by itself doesn’t constitute a large enough change; you’re simply adding more of something you already had.
However Vista won’t be able to address more than 4GB unless it’s a 64-bit edition or you’re using PAE.
As long as the RAM is identical to what you already have or you know your motherboards supported types, you will be absolutely fine. Just be sure to be all static-free when you’re inserting them 🙂
As long as you only upgrade RAM, I don’t see why you should have any problem with it at all.
Nop nothing will happen, Ram’s are made for mostly the speed of the computer, if you added a 2 gb, the computer gets faster than how it is, but if your computer can’t take more then 4 gb and you’ve added another ram card, dont worry, nothing will happen, it’ll just read the higher ram capacity. no harm, just try 🙂
