Thats definitely a small power supply and could be the issue. You can also try ruling out a CPU overheating issue.
If it only happens when your PC has been on for a long while this could indicate a heat issue. Does this only happen in warm temperatures?
When your PC reboots itself the first screen that comes up tells you what key to hit to go into your CMOS setup such as the delete key. After it reboots hit whichever key it says to hit to access your bios/cmos setup. This takes you to CMOS setup, from there some BIOSes will tell you how hot the CPU is. Do this right after it reboots itself spontaneously. According to Intel the max temperature for a CPU is 185 Fahrenheit. Make sure not to change anything in your CMOS setup unless you’re an advanced user.
Your power supply is way too weak. That’s why it’s crashing. Your power supply is maxing out. You need more like a 350 Watt minimum and should get up to 500 Watts for best performance. Anyway, I’m positive about this. The power supply is insufficient. This is a common problem.
i would question a company that put a 150W power supply into a computer that runs a 3.6Ghz Cpu Pentium 4( POWERRRR HUNGGRYYY ). My hp came with 300w which has since been upgraded but still . The CPU and the Video card are the biggest Power hogs. running a PSU too close to its peak power will def shorten its life, get a new PSU. 500w+ and make sure you have enough airflow/fans with a Pentium 4
I would say yes that the power supply is probably your problem. Having only 150 watts is very low, and with the amount of things you have running on that system I would say that the power supply is overheating and causing restarts. You definitely need to get a power supply somewhere in the 500 watt range.
at least have 400 watts to do deal w/ the load.. and
eventually.. the computer will just get a blue screen telling you that its dead.. you dont want this to happen.. stop using the comp and get a new power supply to prevent this from happening..
are u using vista??
hope this helps..
150 watt isn’t enough to power that system depending on what you do on it if your a gamer than no it wouldn’t but if your an anverage user than it should do the job but i’d recomend getting a new one and that could be the problem, have you tried searching for viruses and spyware and if so with what program?
email me for further assistance.
No, start by replacing it with a least a 350wt unit and if that doesn’t do the trick, go back and ask another question.
No. Way too weak!
firefox having errors is not related to your power supply being 150 watts but 150wats is relay underpowered for any system i have no idea how your system is running if your system just turns of randomly or some times wont start that is a power supply problem i would relay change the power supply there relay cheap now i would go to a 400W supply max you should pay around 30$ max on http://www.newegg.com message me if u need more help
