It’s not necessary to clean the registry. Don’t buy any registry cleaning software and don’t run any freebies either – they do more harm than good most of the time. You seriously need to know exactly what you’re doing before you go messing about with the registry.
Most of the time, the reason that computers run slowly is because so many programs start up automatically every time your computer starts up. To find them, click Start -> Run and type in msconfig. Select the Start Up tab and uncheck all of them, except your antivirus. You’d be amazed how much that’ll speed things up.
You don’t need to clean your registry, there’s a lot of myths about registry cleaners. They are mostly a gimmick. They don’t fix problems, they just look for and delete obsolete information (you hope it’s obsolete). They will not make your computer run or start faster. If you want to use one try Ccleaner. It has a reputation for being safe.
Also, never buy a registry cleaner, and never let an online program scan your registry. Many, many scams out there.

Every app you installed in ur system, the values will be stored in the windows system registry. when ever u start ur system whole the registry should be loaded into the memory. even though u uninstall the app some values will be stored in and not deleted.. so for a long the registry will be enlarged, which requires more time to load. so if u clean the registry the unwanted or uninstalled apps values will be cleaned up..
windows registry to a windows operating system is like the foundation that upholds the house that’s on it. any time you install a program it also creates registry entries. when you remove files from your pc often times the registry entries remain there and continue to build up over time sort of like an unkept lawn that just gets overgrown with high grass and weeds. you keep the foundation like new, it will outlast the house that sits on top of it (the windows operating system like xp, vista etc.)
cos all the junk that gets left over when using a computer will steadily build up….bit like a rubbish tip.
All this stuff is totally useless and will slow ur computer down….use disk clean form start button 🙂
again???
The Windows Registry contains information that is continuously referenced during routine PC operations. Over time, the Windows Registry can begin to contain information that’s no longer valid. Maybe you uninstalled an application without using the ‘Add or Remove Programs’ function in the Control Panel, or perhaps an object or file in the registry got moved. Eventually this orphaned or misplaced information accumulates and begins to clog your registry, potentially slowing down your PC and causing error messages and system crashes. ?You might also notice that your PC’s startup process is slower than it used to be.
