You can save it all, but if you cannot boot into windows or whatever OS you are using then there is no use, you cannot save them unless you have a friend with a similar laptop and can somehow connect the HD.
Yes, I’m sorry but sadly it will. I had to do the exact same thing a couple of months back. However, you can put your pics onto discs if you wish to keep them.
It will reinstall windows to the point the recovery disc was made.
I use Vista and I have a feeling that the disc your about to use will take the pc back to shop brought. Which means all your files will be lost.
OK! try this
Booting using the “Last known good configuration”. To do this follow these steps:
Turn on your machine
Immediately begin tapping the F8 key repeatedly (If you get to the Windows startup screen start over)
When the Startup Options menu comes up select “Last known good configuration”
Let the computer attempt to boot into Windows
If this successfully gets you booted into Vista you should be OK. Your system will function as it did before.
If this doesn’t get you booted into Vista, try running the System File Scanner:
Turn on your machine
Immediately begin tapping the F8 key repeatedly (If you get to the Windows startup screen start over)
When the Startup Options menu comes up select “Safe Mode with Command Prompt"
At the command prompt type this command sfc /scannow
Then press enter
This utility will look for damaged or missing system files and attempt to correct the problem. When it finishes it will tell you the results (example: SFC found and fixed problems). Restart your system normally. If you boot successfully into Vista the problem should be solved.
