I got a virus on my computer that took over. How do I wipe my hard drive clean and install windows xp?

The XP disc I’m using didn’t come with the computer, but the one that did came with a Restore Plus! DVD and for some reason the computer wont read that disc, so I am forced to use a disc that came with my old computer.
