Honestly none of those answers are your best bet.
Download DBAN, install on a cd or disk, boot from that, type in autonuke and that will write over the entire hard drive via 3 passes so your data is gone forever.
You’re safe after that.
take it outside douse it with white fuel, set on fire, burn it to cinders! sorry dude you cant actually ever erase the stuff cause it`s still there somewhere, don`t u watch c s i?
There is no 100% way to remove ALL of the data from a hard drive so the best way to make sure that you give over NO information at all is to simply remove it and smash it up – you can pick up hard drives for as little as £25 now
Hope this helps…
Format it. Go to My Computer, right click on the drive, and go to Format…
MAKE SURE you set the file system to NTSF because that’s pretty standard.
format it using fdisk or something…
Reformat your hard disk and you’re all set.. Just remember to reinstall the OS after that so when you sell it, it’s not a blank hard disk..
Format it.
I’ve heard that re-formatting the HD will work (for Windows). What I’ve done in the past is use something like System Mechanic or CCleaner to completely delete everything, including the contents of the Recycle bin. I re-format the HD, then re-format it again, except when the second re-format is about half way done I pull out the installation CD and re-boot.
The Windows license belongs to you only and can’t be transferred, so don’t worry about selling or giving away the pc without an operating system on it.
