How can I repair WINDOWS Xp without reinstalling the entire operating system?????!!!!
Okay, i was doing some computer cleaning, deleting junk files, uninstalling, etc… then when i restarted my computer, my operating system, windows xp media center, the whole interface was lost. in other words, i cant see my desktop start menu, everything was reseted as if it was in safe mode and the whole GUI, graphical user interface stopped working. SO i cant copy my files or other things that i want to save before i would install the whole operating system all over again. SO BASICALLY I THINK THAT THERE IS A REGISTRY ERROR OF SOME KIND AND I CANT CLICK, COPY, CUT, ERASE, OR ANYTHING, NOT EVEN START ETC. How can i repair the system, i already tried system restore but it gives me an error that it is corrupted. I think of either using recovey console in windows when ou boot it up, BUT I DONT KNOW HOW TO USE THAT!!! PLEASE HELP !!!!! PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Allllllrighty

I have a dell xps630i and I haven’t had any trouble out of it at all. Until I installed a RangePlus Wireless PCI Adapter.

I’ve had several years of experience with computer repair and upgrading and I’m 100% positive my putting it in didn’t break anything…

Now my operating system wont load. When I go to boot it , it tells me "Windows failed to start, a new software or hardware change could be the problem". When I run a diagnostic test on it , it gives me error number 0F00:021B saying something about a flaw in media or error in recorded data.

My computer has been acting a little funny about a day or two before this actually came up.

What should I do?

I have an eMachines T6003 with an AMD Athlon 64 Processor and am running the full 4gb of ram. My current operating system is Windows XP 32 bit. So I was wondering if it would be possible for me to do a clean install of Windows 7 64 bit onto my computer? Because whenever I load the install disc it says that it is not a valid Win32 application? Any help onto this would be great.

I would appreciate if somebody can tell me how to format Hard drive in windows xp. I intend to do a clean install of operating system. I have Windows XP CD but it is SP-1; I downloaded SP-2 in 2004 when it was available.

So I plan to do a format of HD and clean install of XP SP-1. I would appeciate any help.

Thanks

I have a 2005 Dell Inspiron laptop. It came with the Windows XP operating system cd and another cd that says Drivers and Utilities, for reinstalling Dell Inspiron and XPS system software, contents: Device drivers & Diagnostics and utilities, part number Y2986. If I ever have to replace my hard drive I already know how to reload the operating system cd, but will this Drivers and Utilities cd reload all the factory drivers for me? Are the drivers already physically on this cd or does it connect me to the Dell web site to get the drivers for me automatically? Or will I still have to go to the Dell support web site and download the drivers one at a time like I did once before on another computer?
