OK, so whenever I try to play ANY game, the game stutters or freezes every second. So it’ll run fine for 1 second, then will freeze for half a second. In essence, one third of total gameplay is the freezing or stuttering. Can somebody please help with this?

It is not online, and does not matter what game it is. I even tested it out with Runescape and it did the same thing! I can’t even play stupid online flash games. And for every game, it freezes the same amount and style as it would for any other game. My system can more than handle almost any game thrown at it, so I am thorougly confused about what is going on.

I have registry cleaned, scanned for viruses and malware, and defragmented my hard drive. Also, my processor or any other type of hardware has not overheated. What is going on?

I have already done registry clean ups and all that stuff, but it still keeps freezing. I scanned it for malware or viruses, but it’s clean. What can I do to stop this problem?

Ok so my family lap top has been really slow lately and I found out its because its got all kinds of spyware malware and all that stuff. So whats a good free way to clean it all up? I mostly use this computer and I dont want my family to think ive been looking at porn or downloading music etc

All help is appreciated 🙂

What is this malware?

I don’t know why or if this got deleted before, but here it is again:

I had a user who had some type of malware, but I don’t know what it is. Now I have it on my portable drive (after using it to back up her data) and I got it on my PC after trying to run SAV on the portable. (I had to reimage both PCs to get trid of it.) But I need to clean the portable drive before I use it again.

I have run SAV, SpybotS&D, Malwarebytes, but nothing can even detect whatever this is.
The symptoms are:
User cannot open local HD. Error message is: Cannot find RECYCLER\S-8-8-24-100026533-100007783-100027606-8409.com c:\

The malware puts a false AUTORUN entry in the context (rigth click) menu. I have found this in the registry: C:\WINDOWS\system32\RunDLL32.EXE Shell32.DLL,ShellExec_RunDLL RECYCLER\S-8-8-24-100026533-100007783-100027606-8409.com C:\
Also it change the DNS entries from DHCP to 83.255.112.67 and 85.255.112.170

There was also a process running (even in safe mode) called system the was constantly using 50% of the proc time.

The user could not open or run any apps or do a proper shut down.

I could not install Hijackthis and it probably would not have been able to run anyway due to the erratic operation of the system.

Also the OS was XP Pro SP2.

Any ideas what this is or how to get rid of it without formatting the drive?

Thanks.

P.S. I forgot to say that it was also periotically trying to read the floppy drive with no disk in it.

My computer is ridiculously slow. It has no virus, malware or spyware at all because I ran complete scan of antivirus, firewall and antispyware. I also ran the registry cleaner of lavasoft.

I use Avira Antivir classic, Comodo firewall, PC tools Spyware doctor, ad-aware and lavasoft registry cleaner for protection. So if there is no virus, malware or spyware then why is it still so ridiculously slow?

It is an emachines desktop which I purchased in April 2005. It still has windows xp. I am tired of doing computer recovery and re-formatting the hard drive.

I just did the recovery 2 days back. After recovery it is fast but then when 2 to 3 days pass, it again gets very slow.

I talked to emachines technical support and they say i have to add more memory. Why? Why must i add more memory when it is only 3 and a half year old computer?

Can a 3 and a half year old car, have so many problems? Then why PC’s fail after 2 to 3 years only?
i also added a performance enhancer named Boostkit. It is sold by mcafee.

Unfortunately the performance booster also failed. I realize my get wasted. This computer is almost in its grave now.
