Did MBAM come up clean or did it find something that returned ? If its the latter, could you post the findings. You may have a rootkit
Sounds like its in your registry, youll need a registry cleaner. Also locate the virus using maybe avg and delete the file manually. Try doing most offline. Otherwise backup essentials and reformat hd
I think if scanning, doesn’t work. Formatting will be the last option and re-install the
OS
Scan your system with MalwareBytes & Reginout. It will help you.
If the virus is a big problem and if u r unable to get rid off it , simply format ur c drive and reinstall a copy of any operating system u like
For how long has this virus been in your computer?
Try to restore your PC back to the point where it was clean.
To use system restore just open Start > All programs > Accessories > System tools > System restore
If everything else fails, you can re-install Windows. Do a total destructive install (destructive means it erases everything then starts new.) Save music and photos first. Your pc will be just like new when finished. No junk files or virus’s.
You are infected with a vigorous strain of the "Search Redirect Virus". This virus can have different levels of infection. The most common is to just redirect you to random websites, however the higher levels can cause pop ups to occur and to prevent your PC from shutting down correctly. On top of this it is impossible to detect with your anti virus (this also includes the Superanti Spyware and Malwarebyes).
The anti virus is designed to detect malicious software being install or harmful processes trying to run. They would stop these from occurring and your system would be safe and clean. However, this virus is different. It infects a system file, allowing it to use the operating system to carry out its work whilst it hides deep in the system directories, from the anti virus.
The system file it infects is the one used by all major search engines to process their Redirect Requests. These requests may seem nonchalant, but as the virus takes control of the file, cause the webpages to redirect and random pop ups to appear.
To remove this virus, you are going to have to use a special program called ComboFix. I have experienced this virus in it’s many different forms hundreds of times and ComboFix is the only program to remove it fully. You can get it here with a very good tutorial:
