As far as the driver digital signatures, it crashes right after I see my screensaver and reads me this long error message.

a recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source.
If you have a windows installation disc, insert the disc and restart your computer. Click "repair your computer," and then choose a recovery tool.
Otherwise, to start Windows so you can investigate further, press the ENTER key to display the boot menu, press F8 for Advanced Boot Options, and select Last Known Good. If you understand why the digital signature cannot be verified and want to start Windows without this file, temporarily disable driver signature enforcement.
Status: 0Xc0000428
Info: windows cannot verify the digital signature for this file.

What I’ve tried so far:
Safe Mode (won’t work)
System Repair (won’t work)
System Check Point (none created)
Okay, it let me in Windows, where do I go from here?

How can I figure out the problem now that I’m actually in Windows now?

I’m paranoid, I feel like any minute it’s about to boot me off and give me that dreaded all blue prompt screen again-lol

I have a dell inspiron 2200 that I purchased in the summer of 2005. It still used windows xp. about a week ago, I tried to restart my computer and it simply wouldn’t boot. after further exploration, i noticed that it does begin to load. it goes through a few sequences then gets to the black screen where there is a large window’s icon and the little moving status bar underneath for about 20 seconds, then simply goes black with the cursor still movable and on the screen. I’ve let it sit for about thirty mins in this screen with no progress.

I’ve done thorough diagnostics in the boot menu by pressing f12 at the beginning of the startup process hoping to find a problem. nothing resulted.

I also don’t believe my laptop came with a boot disc. Looking through some of the original paperwork that came with it, i found something that says my computer does not require an operating system cd or drivers cds. instead, it tells me to reinstall software by using system restore… i’d love to do this if my comp would actually boot!

somebody please help.

thanks

ye im not good at rebooting so i got these 4 disk when i bought my pc. I think its 1 from these 2, here what they say:

Disk 1: Dell- Device Drivers- ALready installed on your computer use thsi media to reinstall the software..

[then under it says]: For Reinstalling Dell Inspiron 531/531s Desktop Computer Software for Microsoft Windows XP.

DISK 2: Drivers and Utilities- Already installed on your computer.

[also says] DVD for Reinstalling Dell Inspiron 531s Computer software.

Content: Device drivers, Diagnostics and utilities.

Thats what the Disks say, Which 1 is the disk that will reboot[ reformat] my PC like its new.

Also what do i do? i think i restart PC and put disk in while restarting and when the Menu thing comes, press F12 [ My boot menu] and let it read or what?

Thanks

my computer is a HP, and in tha start up menu it has some options like setup F12, Boot Menu ESC, and it also has Diagnostics F9

my point is,
do all computers have this diagnostics software or do “some” computers have it?

does yours have it?
