Long story short: Had B.S.O.D., completed Windows XP repair installation. However, it ignored my previous default user profile and created a new one called "Administrator" and automatically applied the same password to it (like this):
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator
The original profile [C:\Documents and Settings\Dave] is visible, but not accessable. I get error message "C:\Documents and Settings\Dave is not available, Access is denied."
This is on XP Pro. I have even removed the Hard Drive and connected to my laptop (XP Home) and still can not get access to it. I have scanned the drive with File Recovery software, but it found 26,000 files so it will take a while to review them. Early indications of the scan doesn’t look like it found the critical files I need in "My Documents".

So, is there a command line or something I can do to unlock it and get access to it?

Maybe something like this? http://support.microsoft.com/kb/309531/ I don’t know. Any help appreciated.
Thanks.
