I have downloaded many freeware and such we will say and after the uninstallation of these softwares there are hundreds if not thousands of remnants of each program in the registry. My question is, other than using normal procedures such as REGCURE, most registry cleaners do not erase these left over keys(including regcure and other utilties), so how do you delete them from the registry???

Help. Does anyone know what registry keys to modify/remove in order to wipe out all remnants of norton internet security 2006? I have tried the norton uninstaller tool already.

My problem is, I have purchased Norton internet security 2007, and it keeps associating it to the key I had installed for Norton Internet Security 2006, even though that product has been removed. I never am given a chance to enter my NIS 2007 key. Norton software claims that my subscription has already expired – since it is counting days based on my old 2006 key.

This is a legitimately purchased NIS 2007, ebay of course, but legal with a 365 day key.

Do registry cleaners actually work and if so, which is the best and what is the best spyware/adware dectection and removal progrms? Does webroot spy sweeper incorporate a registry cleaner? How do I know if I need a registry cleaner? The computers seem to work will and after using selective start up they boot faster but a program KBD.EXE occasionally fails on the desktop. I have downloaded two registry cleaners and of course both say that the registry needs to be cleaned and I am concerned this is all a sort of scam. I now have remnants of these registry cleaners in my start up program, which I have disabled but I want to know how to remove them from the start up list. Thank you for your help.
