CCleaner is the best out there and uses the least PC resources. Do Registry cleanups a couple times a day and you’ll be fine.
stay away from "registry cleaner" software, they’re a scam. use ad-aware and spybot and you’ll be fine (unless you’re a real fool with your browsing and downloading)
1. You may want to take a look at this article. http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=30038 I think that you do not need them.
2. It is good enough for you if everything that is listed is cleared. Take note that there are some that cannot be cleared even though Ccleaner detected it.
3. There are no registry cleaners that do no harm to your computer. Every time you do a cleanup of the registry, there are bound to be some risks present. To be on the safe side, create a restore point before a registry cleanup just in case anything happens.
Yes you need a registry cleaner – that is if you install and uninstall software from time to time. Ccleaner works great to clean your registry and its free. You might want to try a couple of different registry programs to ensure that your registry is clean. Ensuing has another great registry program for free http://www.eusing.com/free_registry_cleaner/registry_cleaner.htm. A paid registry cleaner might not be a bad idea either since their business depends on developing a good product. You can check out http://www.registryscoop.com for reviews of some of the better repair software or just google "registry cleaner reviews".
good luck!
