I have personally seen it that a drive may need to be defragged more than once to clean out all the fragments. It does complete the process before asking you about it again, right? If not then yeah something may be bad, a bad sector or such on the disk. Run CheckDisk for that. It’s not recommended to defrag frequently, but I would suggest this. After the first time, analyze it again and if it shows an improvement then do it again, but I would not not do it for a fourth defrag certainly, I don’t think I would try the third time unless I felt it would actually do something. My question is why so much unused drive space, I hope your planning for another partition to be added in, because that is just a lot of black space your leaving, and I’m sure it will present a problem somewhere along the line, if your space starts getting filled up. No real experience to support this but can it be possible that your computer is mistakenly seeing that black space as an area to spread the info into, when analyzing it. Basically I’m saying your computer sees the final block of info is not on the final block of space, although it should be able to tell the difference in the partitions. Just an idea.
i’m not sure why, but i had the same prob. late it turns out that my drive was damaged so thats way he couldnt defrag properly.
so u can repair first
