Especially in the registry? I’m often told CCleaner is great for cleaning out my computer, but doesn’t do anything when it comes to malware issues, I need other software for that(I use Malwarebytes, free AVG, Window’s Firewall). However, some security specialists tell me to use CCleaner, as if it has some affect on malware issues, if only on the effect of malware and possibly damage caused by malware, although anti-virus programs do virtually all of the work of protecting and removing. What’s going on?

You are infected with spyware if:
* You see too much pop-up advertisements.
* Your browser has toolbars that you haven’t installed.
* Your homepage has changed (and you can’t change it back).
* Other settings have changed without your permission.
* Your computer is slow.
To get rid of spyware and keep your computer clean you can use an antispyware or even more.
You can download a antispyware software. There are 10 good anti-spywares.

Very unlikely, it might by chance delete a registry entry that is causing an error or delete some malware files if they happen to be in internet cache or temp folders
Usually, the only way to fix damage of malware in the registry is reinstall the OS or go back to a system restore point.
No,I use CCleaner myself but I would not use it to clean the registry.Experts in the field also agree that once you are infected, the only way to be sure your clean,is to do A CLEAN Install of Windows, so the lesson here is pervention.

Ccleaner used to be called Crap Cleaner, it removes crap, so if there were left overs of malware in the crap then it would remove it.
A lot of viruses/malware/spyware like to hide in temp, Ccleaner cleans temp.
Ccleaner will also fix some reg problems.
Ccleaner should not be viewed as a malware remover, but as a cleaner.
You state:
I use Malwarebytes, free AVG, Window’s Firewall – I would keep malwarebytes, i would add:
Free Superantispyware:

I would delete free AVG it has no rootkit protection & use free Avast or Free Avira which both have free rootkit protection.
