   Since everyone is recommending "CCleaner" I will recommend a different one. Here:

   I like CCleaner and AML Free Registry Cleaner, they both work well.

   Tune-Up Utilities are a good program set to clean up and clear out your PC. It has a 30 day unlimited trial, which is more then enough time to do what you need to do with it.

   CCleaner is also a free alternative, if you want something that will clean your registry, Prefetch folders, and cookies from your internet browsers.

   A couple of good free multi-tools which include registry cleaners are Advanced SystemCare 3 and Glary Utilities. Each has slightly different abilities. I have used and can recommend them both.

   For just a strictly registry cleaner with no bells or whistles, I currently use and recommend Comodo’s Registry Cleaner.

   * Keep in mind that any registry tool can possibly make a mistake and delete a critical file (It does happen, even with the best of them).
   So be sure to have which ever tool you choose back-up any changes it is going to make before it makes them.
