Without seeing the list it would be difficult to tell.
However, I wouldn’t use a registry cleaner at all. Sure, entries are left behind after an application has been uninstalled, but it’s nothing to worry about.
In this instance, I’d leave the registry alone unless you’re trying to remove a virus or other malicious software.
maybe the program has a feature to backup the register before making changes. If not make a backup yourself using Regedit
Start->Run->typ regedit
in the menubar find backup or save Register. After that run your program. If things don’t work properly you can restore the registersettings you saved earlier
DUDE. the best one out there is CCleaner. its the s$%#.

i had lots of experience with registry cleaners a couple of years back … my conclusion: … cleaning the registry creates more problems than it solves and usually leads to a reformat … i havent used them since … havent been forced into a reformat since either and my machines run fine and fast without them ..
I’ve used CCleaner as well as the old Microsoft RegClean for years with no problems, but they’re not Vista compatible.
I’ve also used Eusing Free Registry Cleaner for quite awhile with no problems. It creates a backup before you tell it what changes to make. The 1st time I used it there were over 1100 items to remove, which I diligently went thru each individual one before deletion, and expecting the worst, guess what? Not a single problem.
I consider reg cleaning important, tho not nearly as vital as anti-virus & anti-spyware scanning. Nor is it needed as often. I run it every couple weeks & find 80-100 items to remove to a backup & then delete the previous backup. There is a noticable speed increase in startup & in general. Like you, I install & remove programs regularly, so I need it.
