yes –by asking this question –( no Offense ) you have no clue what is in your registry or what those entries do –most or all registry cleaners are snake oil junk ware –if you have a problem your better off using the install disc to make repairs
and how do you know you have bad registry entries , what told you .. a windows pop up , a pop up saying you had a corrupted files or error message ???.. the list goes on and on
if you Must use something and this very good – use ccleaner ( do not !!! ..change any of the setting anywhere , / always when asked if you want to back up the change / click yes / send to your doc,s ) that way if something goes wrong you can re load what was fixed .. in my doc’s the file will look like cc blaa blaa blaa
They can be.
More importantly, there is usually no reason to edit the registry. The only exception is the keys that auto start programs under each user’s account.
POTENTIALLY dangerous. Notice the word "POTENTIALLY". Yes, deleting the wrong key can mess up your computer, but most of the time (and I really mean most of the time; the chances of a tested program like CCleaner messing up your machine is tiny) the benefits outweigh the risks. Registry cleaners should also back up the registry (and you should let them) so that if something goes wrong, you’ve got a working copy that can be put back.
