I have been using CCleaner and Advanced System Care (free edition) together for a long time. What one doesn’t clean, the other picks it up.
I have only had it delete a piece of the registry it shouldn’t have about 3 months back and it was on an old Windows XP I was servicing. Only time it ever happened to me with years of using it as a service tool. Treat the backups as a safety, doesn’t hurt to wrap a vase in one extra layer of bubble wrap just in case right?
The backup is just a file that contins all the registry items its going to delete, reinstating it just reverses the deletion.
I’ve never had a problem with ccleaners registry cleanup. Not sure if its needed though.
I use CC Cleaner, Glary Utilities and Windows free registry repair…..never had to once put the backups back on the computer…….4 years…………….
You have the right idea. Backups and more backups.
I use Ccleaner all the time, when I used Windows and even now when I fix other peoples computers. Not once have I ever had complications, in 4 years. But backups are never a bad idea, no matter how confident you are.
yes & yes.
CCleaner does a good job taking out useless registry items. go for it.
