Do the normal checks in the system to locate if by some chance the settings were set to mute or input channels may have had it ticked off. Also check if cabling to speakers are fitted ok, and powered up and sound dial turned on. Next, have a look at sound drivers in system properties and see if any yellow exclamation marks which indicate problems with the hardware. Finally, insert an audio disc to see if it plays or play an MP3. If there isn’t any sound then, try to reinstall the audio drivers again, depending if you’re using onboard sound, then download the motherboard drivers from the manufacturer’s site. Some audio drivers can be downloaded as a separate item to your Motherboard which adds extra functionality eg. Nvidia sound drivers. Restart the PC, and see if it works. Normally if you can hear system sounds eg. a beep or windows closing down sounds, then it really is a conflict with the drivers. It’s not hard to fix them but can be a bit harder to pinpoint where the problem lies. There is no magic pill to trouble shoot this sort of problem because it also means you have to check cabling and no software is as good as your ears are. Good luck.
Go to accesories than entertainment then volume control.
OR Control, sound effect manager or sounds & audio devices. Make sure everything is up & not muted.
Better still install sound card drivers & see how you go. All should be sweet after that.
Goodluck:)
you could run direct x diagnostic to see if it can find a problem with your sound, just click run and type dxdiag.
go to control panel, system, hardware and device manager. see if there is a yellow ! on the sounds and game controllers. if there is, double click on the yellow ! and try to reload the drivers. you may have to get a new driver, so check off look on line
