You need to go into safe mode with networking, delete the AVG and any other anti-software.
If it makes you reboot make sure you go back in to safe mode with networking (press F8 at the boot up, before windows starts)
Next http://www.cnet.com
download the following:
Avast
Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware
SUPERAntiSpyware Free Edition
stay in safe mode and install all three. Do not run them until all three are installed.
All these programs are free and only avast makes your register, but it still does not charge you for it.
next , whille still in safe-mode, run each program. after all three have scanned your computer and fixed any bugs they find you should be good to go.
Also your boot up will take an extra minute or two because of the new programs. Superantispyware takes a bit to run but needs to be run by you once a week. Ad-ware get on your computer in a number of ways. Most commonly by clicking on some thing or filling out a survey.
my first suggestion will be to purchase a decent Antivirus program, and not AVG, my mother purchased that for her computer and it did nothing but cause problems. i recomend webroot antivurs and spysweeper. i purchased mine at walmart for 30 bucks.
the second thing would be to dowload malwarebytes (free version) and run it.

hope this helps
you need 2 things
1. pc cleaner – you can use cc cleaner – http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/ – use the link at the right corner.
2. Antivirus – i use Avast – http://download.cnet.com/Avast-Free-Antivirus/3000-2239_4-10019223.html?part=dl-85737&subj=dl&tag=button
if you prefer to buy a commercial av product try Norton internet security.
hope this helps. good luck. ping me if u need help
