My computers been really choppy, slow and laggy lately. And it kind of irritates me. I think I have gotten several viruses and maybe some bad adware/spyware. I’m getting random pop ups some times and the computer is overall just a lot slower than normal. What programs should I use to get a good clean up to get my computer back to normal? Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Now, start the machine in Safe Mode (hit the F8 function key as the machine boots up, and choose Safe mode)
Turn off System Restore on your machine, but only until you get this fixed – many of these trojans get copied into the System Restore files, which anti-virus programs aren't allowed to touch and the viruse could reinstall themselves from there. My Computer > Properties > System Restore.
Then run Malwarebytes, and clean everything it says
Then run Superantispyware
Then run Avast – If a virus infection is persistent, use Avast to do a boot-scan – click on "schedule boot-scan" and restart the computer
Then run CCleaner
Then turn System Restore back on.
Now install the antivirus program and antispyware program of your choice to do continuous scanning, and make sure you keep it up to date.
Always keep your Windows, web browser and Java software up to date – frequent patches are released to plug security holes.

This program closes out of most unnecessary running tasks and programs, you can add tasks you want to keep running to a list. Programs can be restored upon request or at the next computer boot.
Uninstall unused programs, update your computer regularly, update obsolete or old programs.
Run Disk Cleanup – Start> All Programs> Accessories> System Tools> Disk Cleanup
Run Disk Defragmenter – Start> All Programs> Accessories> System Tools> Disk Deframenter
