Formatting and re-installing your OS and software is the best way. Aside from that, you can delete any files that you do not use or need anymore, you can remove programs that you do not need through via add/remove programs in the control panel.
Finally, perform a disc cleanup and defragment the hard drive using system tools in your accessories folder in the "start" tab. Start\programs\accessories\system tools
NO VACUUM CLEANER, vacuum cleaner nozzles are often plastic and electrostatically charged. Use a can compressed air from your local store and blow the insides out really good and clean the ensuing mess.
To completely clean it? as in wipe the hard drive? In XP, boot the XP disc, when it asks if you want to install say yes, then it will show you the partition(s) on your hard drive. Select remove partition. Once it is removed, then select create partition. Then select install windows on partition. After the drive formats, windows will install. Just follow the prompts from there
Reformat your computer and Reinstall Windows (can’t get any cleaner than that) or better yet Repartion it then format a couple of times and you have a super clean computer…. Unless you are talking about it being dirty then, just blow it out with Canned Air and take a cloth a wipe it down……
Format your drive and reinstall windows. Super clean!
