What is the best spy-ware killer/registry cleaner for Windows?

I’m running Windows XP Pro if that has any bearing on your recommendations.
I use Mozilla Firefox almost exclusively to surf the Internet and can’t think of a time when I have gotten a pop-up window while using it.

Some of my desktop apps, however, are associated with Internet Explorer and open IE on launch (as much as I wouldn’t like them to). That’s when and where I get an almost immediate onslaught of pop-up windows.
Ad-Aware keeps getting mentioned so I download a trial. Is it worth purchasing?

im starting up windows xp using cd…..enter,,repair,,,quit?

im getting an error message, and wanted to see if i could start up using the cd….i did, and it worked….now i need to enter, repair or quit……which do i do so that it only starts up and does NOT reinstall the system software? I dont want to lose anything…i only want to see if i can fix this before reinstalling windows………thx

Hello there, my friend. I accidentally deleted some important Windows Vista files with a registry cleaner and was told reinstalling Vista should fix it up, but I was wondering if I install the Windows 7 trial instead, would I delete all of my documents and all that jazz?

As i have many just now repurchased Trend Micro Pro and at the same time bought a computer from a local computer repair shop becuase it had windows xp x64 on it i thought it was well worth it since so many problems vista has, but any one have any idea what antivirus software will work, everytime i try to install my software or different versions of it to see wich work i keep on getting a message to read my installation documentation and what i am installing is a 64bit installer file
anything else that might work,
