   Dell what?
   What cpu, ram, hd and free space? Can you post this info?

   Also ask this question- Do they really "need" Windows? Depending on which games they want to keep- you may consider Linux Ubuntu or Mint. That will end the bogging down and virus problems. Its free and comes with open office. I have ran Ubuntu and Mint very well on an old Dell P-III 866 mhz and 384 ram. Its just as easy- if not easier than XP, just a little different. No command line to deal with -everything is menu and point and click with the mouse. You do not have to "learn" Linux. It just works.

   opening firefox and other programs taking long = need more RAM (ram upgrade) to fix that OR get new computer

   lacking hard drive space? aka almost full

   use ccleaner (can be downloaded from download.com) to speed up computer a little.. cleans up the junk files

   disk defragmenter your computer (use smart defrag program)

   and there are a lot of things but.. i can’t list them all here ..

   Sounds like you need a startup manager. I have eleven programs that load something every time my computer starts (3 are security software) and none of them show up in the "Startup " directory. And almost everything I’ve downloaded tries to load some part of itself during startup.

   A.) Google "startup manager" and choose one

   or

   B.) IObit has a product called Advanced System Care (free). The startup manager is under "Utilities">"Admin Tools". I’m not endorsing them (I already have Norton Security Suite and use the startup manager they have) – half of all the utilities that are bundled together by IObit do things that windows already has a utility for, but somethings like the "Game Booster" really work. And besides, you have to have a third party program to do these things because windows is so willing to let programmers hide stuff from you.
