   Press F8 after powering up to boot to SAFE mode. If SAFE mode is OK, try a system restore to a date when computer was ok.

   If SAFE mode won’t boot, OS is messed up, Try a repair using the Windows installation disc. Boot from CD and proceed as if you are installing OS. Make sure in BIOS that CD drive is first boot drive. Do not use the first repair prompt. Now, when the process detects your installed OS, it will ask you whether you want to repair it. Choose repair. Once finished, you just need to install the drivers that may not have been installed during the repair proces. Some newer drivers are usually not on the installation disc. They could be found in a separate drivers CD that came w/ computer or could be downloaded from computer maker’s support website.

   ALL files and applications will remain INTACT.
