A slow computer is a symptom of a system that has not been fully maintained and optimized. Once people buy their computers they forget that they must also take care of it. There are dozens of different tricks and tweaks you can perform to keep your computer running at a high level. This will help reduce start up and shut down times as well as improve general sluggishness and prevent crashing. Rather than go through all of them, you can download software that can automate this process for you. Try it out and get a free diagnosis at:
http://www.registry-clean-up.net
First, backup all your data to an external medium.
Then, if you have no hardware problems, do this:
(1) Run a full anti-virus scan with a good virus scanner. Use the latest virus definitions file. But don’t install or run more than one anti-virus at the same time.
(2) Run anti-spyware scans.
(3) Ensure all Microsoft security updates are applied.
(4) Run disk cleanup to delete old temp files and other junk. Right click the drive in My Computer, choose Properties and Disk cleanup. Delete the temp files, temporary internet files, empty the recycle bin etc. Don’t compress the drive contents.
(5a) Run chkdsk once to scan for file system errors. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315265
(5b) Run a thorough disk defrag. The best option is to use a good commercial automatic defragmenter for this. Once installed, it will defrag and also prevent fragmentation in real-time. Google ‘real-time defrag’ for more information. You can also run a boot-time defrag to fix the MFT and page file if they are fragmented.
(6) Disable unnecessary background processes and services that take up memory. You can use MSCONFIG and SERVICES for this, but if you’re unsure of what the processes/services do, don’t change any settings.
You do not need to clean out the registry or modify any of the registry keys. Deleting a wrong key from the registry can damage your operating system.
I don’t know much about computer but may be you need new memory, memory is full, if not just call a computer specialist
You might be running too many Applications on your desktop or in C
You can check this by going to properties,
Do one thing Go to control panel and delete/Uninstall the Files which you are not using.
And Start Antivirus once.
Then your system will run fastly as before.
But delete the all unwanted files which you dont use.
If all are important for you, you need to do OS and you can install all files again . And you can get your system speed back .
Choice is yours.
I think your pc has become slow due to virus.
My suggestion you back up your programs and format your pc, formatting pc loads all new and fresh files and also delete viruses.
